Why a Small Jet Lease?

Why lease a small jet? It is easy to argue the case for using private jet charters for business or pleasure. Everything about a small jet lease is better than flying on commercial aircraft. Well, they are smaller, but so much nicer! Also, flying on jet charters is very safe. Crews are well trained and experienced.

A small jet lease can be the solution to many obstacles that run up costs to corporations. They also can be beneficial for families to use for their vacation escapes. Many of the same advantages apply to corporate jet charters as apply to family charters.

Cost is always a factor in all types of travel. Corporations may discover it is much more affordable to charter a private jet for their executive travelers than to fly commercially or maintain their own aircraft and personnel. Families can customize their travel plans however they wish, for the most part, because jet charter aircraft have more flexible flight operations than do commercial airlines.

With jet charters, large parties can usually travel for less than similar flights on commercial aircraft would cost. In addition, the smaller private jets can land closer to a destination because they may use a far greater number of airports than large commercial aircraft can access. Time is saved on departures that are closer to home, and landings that are nearer to the destination location. More savings follow due to the reduced amount of land travel required from airport to home or destinations.

Family travel by jet charter has many similar advantages. While costs for the trip per person may be a bit higher because there are fewer persons to divide up the cost, the seclusion and privacy of private jet charters is the ultimate in flight luxury. Luxury accommodations on charter jets are ultra first class for design and comfort.

Three members of Kansas’ U.S. Congressional delegation say they are suspicious that Louisiana may be using federal funds to try to lure Hawker Beechcraft to their state, according to KansasReporter.org, which reports that U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts said that Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds given to Louisiana to help with economic recovery after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 might be part of the incentive package to attract the airplane manufacturer to transfer the 6,000 jobs that are currently in Wichita and to build a plant down south.

By RICK A. RICHARDS, For General Aviation News

Most boys have a model airplane or two. So does Jim Read, but his collection fills an entire hangar at Porter County Municipal Airport (VPZ) in Valparaiso, Ind., and every one of them is airworthy. Now, after a decade of sharing his collection with the public as the Indiana Aviation Museum, Read is selling most of them off and shutting down his museum.
